Humans of York

The man who we interviewed did not feel comfortable with us taking a picture of him. We of course respected this. Here is another picture of one of those who we interviewed, but who's interview we are not publishing on the blog

What is your favourite restaurant in York?
"I like Betty's Café and Tea room. My wife and I often take our grandkids here. They make some lovely cakes, and the little ones love it!"

What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time in York?

"I enjoy spending time with my grandkids. They are only five and six years old, so taking them out for walks and café visits is something I do whenever I have the opportunity."

Why do you live in York?
"I've always lived here. It's a quiet, smaller city which I really enjoy."

What do you think is the best thing about York?
"There are so many different people here - both elderly and young, so there is always life in the city at any time."

What possibilities do this city give you/your family?
"My grandkids have the opportunity of going to college here. York College is a really great school, and I believe that they will choose the right education when it is their time."

Do you have a job? If yes, what du you work with?
"I don't work anymore, but I worked as a teacher as Bootham School for many years."

If you shouldn’t live in York, where would you live?
"I wouldn't live anywhere else, to be honest."

What is the most important and interesting thing about this city?
"The Minster is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere here in York is also amazing - everyone are so polite and nice. I believe that you've experienced that yourself, right?"

How is it to be young in this city?

"They might be bored of all of us elderly, ha ha. It is not a city full of young people, but it is clear to see that they enjoy the city life here."
